Missing the Hiatt Christmas Party

Tonight I am sitting here feeling a little sorry for myself, wishing I was in Mesa. I never thought I would miss the crazy loud, over 100 people in my grandparents house christmas party, but I am. We are really enjoying our time here in Utah, but there is something to be said about having the opportunity to visit with family. I have loved being up here and spending time with Holly and Emily, and Carl's family Steven and Lee. I am so grateful for the time that I have been able to spend with Holly and her kids. I know that I will really miss it when we move back to AZ. So I guess that I shouldn't be feeling sorry for my self and be thankful for the time we have had to get to know our cousins better. Anyway, I am posting a few pictures from a past Hiatt party. I hope everyone there has a great time. Tell grandma and grandpa we love them.

The Pack Meeting!!!

Octobers pack meeting was when I got my weblos badge. I had only worked on it for two months. It was really crazy because I didn’t think it was that easy but I got it really fast. I was surprised but because my leaders are one of the best leaders I have every had because they point out what I need. And all the scouts in my group are awesome to because they help me and all the other scouts. I like everything about scouts my leaders, my scout buddy’s (all the boys in my troupe are named Mathew, Kunalu, Zack, Jonathan and Angelo), and my parents that help me work ward what I need to earn.

Carving, Carving, Carving

Today, we went to Holly and Jordan's house to Carve Pumpkins and decorate cookies. So the following are pictures of the event.
The kids carving pumpkins!

Hey, dad look the kids are cleaning out the pumpkins!

The ZOO

Last week we went to the zoo, with Holly and Jordan. It was fall break up here, and we had beautiful weather for the weekend. Carl got a great picture of an organatang. The kids went into a prairie dog exhibit, that you can stick your head out like one. We enjoyed the day.

I want to be Michael Phelps

This picture of Pacer is so cute. Marcus is on the swim team, and Pacer was trying on the gear. Don't you think he could be the next Michael Phelps, Pacer is way cuter.

Head and Shoulders

Marcus will be mad that I am sharing this story but I love it. So we have some "Head and Shoulders" shampoo. A couple of days ago, Marcus came down and said "I washed my hair, but couldn't get my shoulders clean." It took me a few minutes to figure out why he was saying this. Then I just started laughing. I love Marcus.

Cornbelly's

We have missed the Willis Farm Corn Maze so we had to find a replacement location for this fall. Cornbelly's is a farm at Thanksgiving Point that has been putting on a corn maze for a number of years. It was great and we found a lot of suggestions that we will take back for the Willis Farm.

This is the Wiltbank Herd. We alway knew they were a bunch of animals.

Just like the old days for these big kids. Carl says he used to always win, but not this time quick on the draw Steven won 2/3.

This was the box of corn. It was a play house that had 1 foot high sides that was filled with corn kernels. The kids love it. In the corn there were squashes, little pumpkins, and other objects. It was a little fun game of hide and seek.

Greatest Show on Earth

A few weeks ago we got to go the circus with Holly, Jordan and their boys. We had so much fun. The kids loved it, and loved watching their faces.

Unbelieveable

So last week Pacer and Olivia and I went to story time at the Library, which they had alot of fun at. Then we went to a grocery store down town. While we were walking around I kept seeing a guy that looked familiar. At the cashier I was right in line behind this guy. And I figured out that it was the blonde guy from 90210. But of course being me who can't remember anything, couldn't remember his name. He was nice said Hi to the kids and was gone. When I got to the cashier, she said "do you know who that was" I said that I thought I did. She said it was the guy "Ian Ziering" from 90210. It was kindof unbelieveable to think that we were right behind a movie star. I guess this will be our claim to fame. HA! HA! I don't know how to insert a picture, so if you don't know who it is just type his name in google.

Sunset Crater

I am catching up on some of the stuff that we did this summer. We were really trying to see some of the sites in Arizona before we moved. These pictures were taken at sunset crater and the indian ruins. It was a great day. I am left wondering how did these people build these homes and live before technology. What an amazing heritage they left for their families. The last picture of Marcus and Alyssa with shirts puffed out, is over a hole in the ground that has constant air flowing from it. The air is really cold, I bet that would have been some great air conditioning back then.

My Boys

We went camping during the summer with some friends. We had a blast, but the boys were very tired. Our friends had this chair, and the next thing I see is Marcus and Pacer sound asleep. How cute.

Crazy Cousins

This summer we had the oppurtunity to have some of the Wiltbank cousins stay with us. The kids loved having their cousins. One day they all decided they wanted to have pink or blue hair so I said why not, it is summer. They thought it was really fun. I even took them to the movie with this crazy hair.

Mr. Potato Head

So this picture of Pacer is so cute. He is quite the character now adays. And of course he his our very own Mr. Potato Head. I can't believe he is 2.

BACK TO SCHOOL

Yesterday was the first day of school!! Yeah, the kids were ready to go back. The school they go to is a uniform school. That is very different for us. It was hard to shop for uniform stuff. On Fridays they get to wear normal clothes so they are very excited. Here are a couple of pics. from the 1st day and what their uniforms look like. I will post some pics of our new place and some stuff we have done so far to catch up.

Baby Kaylan

A little note from Holly: I want Kaylan's grandparents to see her in living color so Wendy let me post on her blog. Kaylan is 4 months old and at a very fun age. She is growing and changing everyday. The other day I said she was growing like a "weed" a cute weed that is and Griffin said "no she is growing like a flower." Her brothers adore her.

A cute story

Today the kids and I took a walk around the block. As we were walking I told the kids about a story my mom tells from her family history. So of course I had to call her and get the details correct. Then the kids came up with a bunch of questions. So the story goes, my GreatX3grandparents joined the church in England at the beginning of the church. Isaac Hunt and Ann Newley(sp). When she joined the church she was disowned by her family, so she went to live with another family and they came to the US together. While crossing on the ship she fell in love with Isaac. When they got to the states he was the wagon train in front of her. So he left her notes on the rock and cow heads and whatever he kind find. They got married when they got to Salt Lake. So my kids had all of kinds of questions like, what did he write with, what did the notes say and how hold were they. I thought they came up with some very interesting questions. It was fun telling them some of their history. So I know that was kindof long but I know I will forget these moments if I don't write them down. So you can all read along too.

Beautiful Flower

I missed this flower in the other group of pictures. Carl took this picture and I thought it was beautiful.

Mt. Elden

Can you believe twice in one week! Yes, I am posting again. Today we decided to climb Mt. Elden. We were really wanting to do this before we move. We hiked about 3miles. The kids did really good, Olivia fell asleep in the pack, and Pacer was so tired he slept for 3 1/2 hours. We had a great time, and the scenery from up there is beautiful. I take too many things for granted, I need to take time to smell the roses once in awhile.

FATHER'S DAY

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there. We are celebrating next week, so I kind of forgot, until I was looking at some older pictures and saw this one of my dad. He is holding Olivia and Reaves. What an awesome man, and great example he is. I now appreciate all the embarrassing, standing up for standards things he did when I was teenager. I remember watching a movie with my friends at our house and my dad turning off the movie because it was taking the Lord's name in vain. How embarrassing! Thank you Dad for not caving, I hope that I can be like that with my kids. We were able to visit in Snowflake for the last week, and when I left he gave me a huge hug and told me how glad he was that we came to visit. He is so good with the grand kids, they all want to go milk the cow with him, it is so exciting the first time the kids are big enough to go with him. They love it. Thank you Dad for everything you do for me and my family, what a blessing you are in our lives. I Love you, Wendy.

My, My it has been along time!

I don't know if anyone even looks at my blog anymore, since I hardly ever update. But to those of you who do, thanks. I am sorry, that it has been so long. It just doesn't seem like alot goes on in our lives. We did get to go on a trip to CA. It was a blast, we met Carl's brother Steven and his family there. The kids had so much fun together. The trip didn't start out on the greatest note, as you see we wrecked our van. $4,600.00 later it is fixed, thank goodness for insurance. And thankyou to my mom and dad who were so gracious to let us take their car, and for driving our car with no AC. What awesome parents I have. We went to Sea World, The San Diego Zoo, Disney Land and the beach. I am not sure what the kids liked most. I think they could have stayed at the beach for ever, but too cold for me. The week was a blast, sick people and all (some of us got the flu). I want my kids to always remember these times, spending time with their cousins and family. I am glad to have such awesome in-laws that can put up with us.
I know this is alot of stuff, but I guess that there is alot going on. Maybe I should update more! HA HA! We are moving to UT in Aug. so that Carl can do his internships. I am trying to pack stuff, so that we can send most of to storage. We are only going to be there for 7 months, then back to Snowflake for his last internship. Yeah, my kids can't wait to be back in Snowflake. It will be alot of moving, but worth it in the end. I will take pictures of all my boxes, I can't believe that I have so much stuff. Were does it all come from. Well to all who read this, I hope you have a nice day.

Wendy's Great Fall

Last Sunday while we were in Snowflake I had a great fall. I decided to walk through a room with the lights out. Bad choice!! There was an exercise trampoline in the walk. I tripped over it, and hit the corner of the wall. Boy does that wall have a hole in it now. The first picture was just after it happened. The second picture is today. Great look, don't you think. And yes I went to church today, a tad late so that I wouldn't have to answer so many questions. Yesterday, I scared a little boy in the grocery store.

Grand Canyon Trip

We took the kids to the Grand Canyon over Spring Break. We had a great time. And it was awesome to see some of the work that his grandfather did there.

Lamar's Dogs

So a couple of weeks ago I was in Snowflake, and my dad took the kids and I out to feed the cows with Lamar. This is so funny to me Lamar's 3 dogs riding on top of the feed truck. His dogs ride any where they can. This is my dad and Pacer, Pacer loved the cows, he was mooing for days.

Carl's Truck

These are pictures of Carl's Truck after he was in a wreck. He was not injured. He was going 30 miles an our when another car moved into his lane and slowed to take a turn. Carl hit him and caused enough damage to his truck for the insurance company to total it. We are so sad about the truck, we will miss having a truck, but we are very thankful to Bill and Tammy and Steven and Marcie for the donation of the Escort. Yes, that is right Carl is now driving a 98 Ford Escort. I am so proud of him for doing this. I promise we will get a truck for you when you are done with school.

Vertical Relief

The kids spent the afternoon at the rock climbing shop. They really enjoyed their time there.
